Delivering A Plant Upgrade for Big Cypress WWTP
Big Cypress Waste Water Treatment Plant
R2T provided owner representation for the Big Cypress Wastewater Treatment Plant, Big Cypress Reservation, Florida.
The project included a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) at the Big Cypress Reservation to meet future demands and current effluent discharge regulations.
The facilities for this project consisted of:
- Extensive site modifications to meet geotechnical foundation requirements and to protect from flooding.
- Treatment building housing chemical feed facilities, administrative offices and electrical room.
- Bulk chemical feed and storage facility.
- SBR and filtration facilities.
- Sludge thickening.
- Percolation ponds for plant effluent final disposal.
- R2T provided overall project management and owner representation role.
Below the fold:
Our responsibilities included:
- Overall project management.
- Cost and schedule monitoring and control on behalf of the STOF.
- Development and implementation of an extensive document control system.
- Coordination, monitoring of direct purchase of several large equipment packages that resulted in tax savings to the STOF.
- Utilization of technical support by R2T staff to resolve technical deficiencies and design related site issues.
- On site full time R2T staff to monitor construction activities.
- Review of pay requests and review and monitoring of project schedule.
